Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Kigali and embark on a city tour, including visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft shops. After the tour, drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside (approx. 2 hours) to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri District. Check in at your lodge and enjoy dinner and overnight.

Accommodation Options: Five Volcanoes Lodge, Virunga Gorilla Lodge (luxury), Le Bamboo Lodge (midrange), or Muhabura Hotel (budget)

Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village Tour
Gorilla Trekking: Morning transfer to park headquarters for briefing and assignment of a gorilla trekking sector with a ranger. Trek into the forest, which can take 50 minutes to 3 hours to locate the gorillas. Spend up to 1 hour observing, photographing, and interacting with the gorillas. Return to lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour: In the afternoon, visit Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village to experience Rwandan culture, including traditional music, dances, house construction, cooking, and marriage ceremonies. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Kigali
Golden Monkey Trekking: Morning transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing, then trek to find the shy golden monkeys while enjoying a nature walk. After the trek, return to the lodge, check out, and transfer back to Kigali for departure. This concludes the 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari.
