Accommodation

We will look to source accommodation depending on your budget and interests. Uganda has a beautiful selection of eco-friendly lodges when upcountry and fine hotels in Kampala and Entebbe. The pricing of your safari will vary very much depending on your choice of accommodation.

Age Requirements

We welcome guests of all ages. Minimum age for gorilla and chimpanzee tracking is 15 years.

Airlines & Flights

International: KLM, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Egypt Air, South African Airways.

Regional: Air Uganda flies to Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Nairobi, Juba.

Domestic: Available to most major towns and national parks.

Airport

Entebbe International Airport is 45km from Kampala. Meet & greet service included.

Banking

International banks in Kampala: Mon-Fri 8:30am-4pm. ATMs widely available. Currency easily convertible to Ugandan Shillings.

  • Flashlight/torch for evenings

24-28°C year-round. Rainy seasons: Oct-Nov & Mar-May. Cooler in mountains (gorilla trekking areas).

Credit Cards

AMEX, Visa, MasterCard accepted in large hotels. Limited use outside Entebbe/Kampala. Surcharge may apply.

Currency

Uganda Shilling is local currency. USD widely accepted. Better rates for $50/$100 bills. Avoid torn or pre-2001 notes.

Drinking Water

Use bottled water at all times.

Electricity

240 volts AC. UK-style 3-prong plugs. Bring adapters.

Hand Luggage

Carry medications, documents, money, change of clothes in hand luggage.

Health

Yellow Fever vaccination recommended. Anti-malarial medication advised. Bring medical insurance docs.

Official language: English. Over 40 tribal languages spoken.

Available at lodges, hotels, and camps.

Road Conditions

Paved and unpaved roads. Some upcountry roads rough. Travel time depends on conditions, not distance.
