What should I bring with me?

As a general guide, comfortable, casual wash and wear clothes are recommended. Please note that muted colours are recommended for game-viewing. Game-drives are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon, which can be very cold, especially in winter.

Khaki, green, beige and neutral colours (dark blue and black clothing should be avoided, as it attracts Tsetse flies)

Before traveling to Uganda, first, you must decide what to do about money- carrying large cash is never safe yet also ATMs are very few and not where in the remotest destinations where Uganda safaris are conducted. You must exchange your currency into local currency- (Uganda shilling) to make it easier for you to transact while in local markets or if you want to tip the guides, waiters, waitresses, or local communities.

Travel gear/equipment

There are lots of items to carry on an actual Uganda safari but the essential ones include waterproof walking/hiking shoes/boots, daypack, first aid kit, GPS if you are heading for a self-drive tour. Others include long-sleeved shirts, long pants, safari hats, insect repellents, sweaters, rain jackets, and more.
